Signature pattern

A signature pattern is a repeated expert move that meets the evidence standard and explains a visible result.

Working definition

A signature pattern is the mechanism behind the edge.

The pattern is the thing the expert keeps doing when the work gets valuable: the question they ask, the pause they protect, the frame they switch into, or the criterion they apply before anyone else sees the moment.

02

A pattern name has to pass DRIVE.

DRIVE means Descriptive, Recognizable, Imaginable, Viral, and Emotional. The name should show what the pattern does, sound like the expert, create a picture, feel sayable, and connect to values visible in the evidence.

Where it goes to work

First your thinking becomes visible. Then it goes to work.

Every build starts with your Cognitive Fingerprint™: the part where what has always been there becomes something you can see. Then it gets installed where your work actually happens. For you, for your team, or for the whole company.
